Mila Sombillo

Hello! I am Mila Sombillo I am a filipina mom, wife and a  freelance artrist from Disney World and Universal Studio in Florida. Milaartistique is all about my art and  my passion.

It is always the creativity within me that keeps stoking the flames of passion for art in my life. It all began when I started to doodle when I was a toddler and my mother was my mentor and influenced me a lot. In my early age, my mother taught me how to draw portraits and in my late 30s I started to draw a caricature, but I didn’t stop sketching faces later

I developed my skills in doing portrait caricature, not so cartoon but close to reality. I love sketching and if my film camera is with me I catch interesting subject and sketch when I get home.

In the year of 2000, I started a small art activity in my room and later I converted into office and give free outdoor arts and crafts lessons to less fortunate and handicapped children. Later, I opened my art studio and named it “Lil’ Hand Print” and, my beloved parent supported and help me through. It was May 2007 a breakthrough in running my art studio had been achieved.  Lil’ HandPrint was featured in Channel 4, Channel 9 and Channel 13 simultaneously in the Early Morning Show of their

art segment for summer art activity. And later of that year too, Moms today magazine featured the Lil’ Hand Print for their May-June and June-July issue featuring my arts and crafts “Lion Puppet and My Lil" Apron.

Due to increasing of the adult students, I changed my art studio’s name to Amour’s Creative Hand Art Center. In the year of 2009 of June I opened Amour’s Creative Hand Art Center in Mayaguez Puerto Rico, this time with the help of my husband, then we continued it to Colorado, now in Florida.

When I studied architecture I learned to unlock creativity by managing my results and not my time, what I meant is I make sure that I work toward results, not working towards trying to fill up every possible second I have with different approaches to work towards satisfying a timed result, the more I find myself working towards tangible results, the quicker I seem to arrive at viable options without distractions and over thinking my time constraints. Focus and energy are the keys to do what I love

to do, doing my art with purpose.
